Feelin’ You, Dodger Fans!!

0

So the Dodgerfan staff has shaken off the Game 1 and 2 losses and is now ready to embrace the excitement of the first NLDS game at Dodger Stadium since ’88. To quote KLAC-AM’s Vic the Brick Jacobs, “FEELIN’ YOU, DODGER FANS!! We’ll be at Sunday’s game, and promise to report back later that night with photos and fan reactions from the Ravine.

It’s now time to break free of that bad Philly mojo, and embrace the excitement and passion that can only be found in Mannywood. The fellas know the energy that LA fans have brought down the stretch and in the playoffs, and tomorrow is going to be special – no doubt about it.

Honestly, the team really hasn’t looked the same since they started playing Philly. I’m not sure why they’re looking tentative, but nothing cures a case of Dodger indecisiveness like a trip home to the friendly confines of Chavez Ravine. Kuroda is awesome at home (6-2) and hopefully the guys can regain that swagger they had in the previous series against the Cubs.

As Torre has noted, when you’re down 0-2, it’s about focusing on one game at a time. The Dodgers have rattled off three consecutive wins plenty of times during the season, and they can do it now. The key? “Manny being Manny” and Torre going back to the lineup that got them there, with Andre Ethier hitting before Manny, not after. Torre also needs to pull the starters when they begin to falter. He definitely left Lowe and Bills in there too long. Historically, teams are 1-9 when down 0-2 in a seven game series, but as we all know, anything is possible and nobody knows that better than the former Red Sox players on this team (Manny, Lowe, etc.) who did it themselves a few years ago.

I’ll leave you now with a few of the lyrics to Journey’s Don’t Stop Believin’ to get you psyched for tomorrow night:

Working hard to get my fill,
Everybody wants a thrill
Payin’ anything to roll the dice,
Just one more time
Some will win, some will lose
Some were born to sing the blues
Oh, the movie never ends
It goes on and on and on and on

(chorus)

Don’t stop believin’
Hold on to the feelin’

Feelin’ You, Dodger Fans!
