Two great new installments from our old friend TroyFromWestVirginia. We are still hoping to get him on the Dodgerfan.net staff…
The Legend of Joe Beimel as Told By a 2nd Grader
TroyFromWestVirginia is back, and this time he is spreading the Gospel of Joe Beimel according to TroyFromWestVirginia via his daughter’s second grade class.
The video below sums it all up – Troy takes us through the assignment, reads the statement his daughter will present, and highlights the Joe Beimel Bobblehead “show and tell” that will be forthcoming.
He adds that his daughter will proclaim that The Legend of Joe Beimel is an “internet phoenomenon” and share some details about how Joe stumbled across the series of videos.
At the end, Joe mentions that his daughter will bring up Beimel’s free agency and the fact that he may not be back. Watch at about the 6:45 mark – I think you can see a tear forming in Troy’s eye at that point.
It’s 7:51 long, but pretty entertaining nonetheless.
Troyfromwestvirginia and Joe Beimel (AGAIN)
Troyfromwestvirginia delivers another riveting discussion of the merits of Joe Beimel. This time, Troy discovers two (very distant) things they have in common and his disgust with Alleghany County Community College for snubbing the great Joe Beimel. We also get a peak into the scarred psyche of Troy and his college days playing basketball.
Enjoy.
Vin Scully and Troyfromwestvirginia on Matt Kemp
I recently came across two great YouTube videos – one with Vin Scully giving the play-by-play of the Matt Kemp vs. Yorvit Torrealba (a fight that I missed due to a family event) and another with our old friend TroyFromWestVirginia who decided to film 2.5 minutes of himself impersonating Matt Kemp sitting in the dugout with nothing to do. I’m not sure where he comes up with this stuff, but I’ll have to give the nod to ol’ Vin for his interpretation of the fight.
Matt and Yorvit go at it in Denver
TroyFromWestVirginia “ridin’ the pine” as Matt Kemp
The Legend of Joe Beimel as Told by TroyfromWestVirginia
Genius. Pure Genius.
Thanks to the L.A. Daily News and Los Angeles Times’ Dodger blogs for bringing this to our attention. Here is a guy, pacing around in his basement with a 7 foot ceiling wearing baseball pants that are 4 inches too long, reciting the Gospel of Joe Beimel according to TroyfromWestVirginia. Just when you think he’s run out of steam, he is back for more commentary that makes you spit out your drink. The best seven and a half minutes of YouTube out there right now.
Never just Joe. Never just Beimel. ALWAYS Joe Beimel.
Enjoy.
