Dreadgate, Day 14

Ah, how sweet the summer is! Nomar, fresh off the disabled list, homers in the bottom of the ninth, giving LA a crazy 7-6 win over the Phillies (for those of you keeping score at home, that’s two huge walk-off wins in a row, baby!). Meanwhile, the D-Backs lose 6-5 to the Rockies. You just gotta love it!! The real story, of course, is Day 14 of Dreadgate. While the Dodgers have simply been kicking ass while Manny Ramirez has been a Dodger (hitting .467 overall and a blistering .611 at Chavez Ravine), Joe Torre is keeping a firm hold on Dreadgate, holding Manny to his word that he would “clean up” his hair.

Rest assured, Dodger fans, that DodgerFan.net will stay all over the Dreadgate story, but it’s our opinion that Torre should cut Manny some slack. Maybe give him a little test: if the Dodgers can ooen up a three game lead on the D-Backs by the end of the month, then Manny gets to keep his hair.
If not, Torre gets to cut it off himself. Look, we know that this is Joe’s team, but we’re talking Manny Friggin’ Ramirez!

In the words of many a sportscaster, I say we let “Manny be Manny.”
