While most people remember Raul Mondesi as the Dodgers’ 1994 National League Rookie of the Year, his native Dominican’s see him differently these days: they see him as a politician. Wednesday’s Los Angeles Times looks at Mondesi and his role in politics in his native Dominican Republic. Kevin Baxter does a great job of digging into why Raul has been successful to date and the upcoming mayoral election he is participating in. It’s worth a read.
